At long last, we managed to survive 2020. A lot of bad things happened, but in retrospect, we still got some cool tech gadgets released over the course of the year. I decided to review some extraordinarily good finds that retail for less than $ 50,00.
Take a look at the list and maybe you’ll find something useful to upgrade your setup.
The recent release of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste was definitely a very positive surprise. The mouse is light, moves fast and doesn’t break your bank. With its strong performance and good design, it actually is one of the best lightweight gaming mice to get right now.
Honestly, this mouse is unbelievably comfortable to use and feels straight-up awesome to game with. Its shape allows your hand to rest naturally and the honeycomb pattern allows air to pass through the entire body, keeping your hand cool at all times.
The HyperX Pulsefire Haste weighs in at a measly 59g, but its performance packs a punch. Its PAW 3335 Sensor has a range of 400 to 16.000 DPI, which is something extremely rarely seen at this price point.
And if this wasn’t good enough already: It holds 6 programmable buttons and an RGB mouse wheel.
On the bottom of the gaming mouse, you can find PTFE feet that ensure to easily glide across surfaces. In the packaging, you can find a set of replacement feet, as well as textured grip tape pieces. The grip tape pieces can be applied to the mouse’s buttons to enhance their haptic feeling.
It seems as The Pulsefire Haste isn’t available on Amazon at all times, but you can alternatively get it on the HyperX website linked below.
With a price of $ 49,00 the Razer Seiren Mini easily deserves a spot on the top of this list. This mobile condenser microphone surprises with very good audio quality.
The small mic is probably as plug-and-play friendly as it gets. After connecting it to a device of your choice via a USB 3.0 cable you’re all set. There are no buttons or any other gimmicks on it, making it incredibly easy to use. This allows for a fast change of scenery, which is especially handy when you need to work in separate places.
What really surprises on this tiny mic is the sound quality. You best direct the super-cardioid (this just means very directional) mic towards your mouth using a mounted arm and it will beautifully record your voice without picking up too much background noise. You have to be careful when placing it right behind your mechanical keyboard though, as it will pick up the keypresses.
When you’re using the mic on a desk, you can mount it on the small stand it comes with. The stand allows the mic to be angled about 30 degrees in any direction.
You get a crisp audio response straight out of the box with only a slight increase in the upper mids. You basically can’t get any better audio quality than this for $50.
The Razer Seiren Mini is amazing for its costs and is available in three colors: black, mercury white, and quartz pink.
The Powergiant Mini Electric Screwdriver is the definition of quality of life improvement. It doesn’t matter whether you’re building your PC or if you’re using it casually around the house: This thing is freaking convenient.
It’s the ease of use that makes this product so good. The minimalistic design doesn’t only make it almost look like a pen, it’s also as easy to carry around.
The Screwdriver comes in a cylindric case that can be attached to the bit carrying case, making it very compact and easy to store. After detaching the magnetic lids the case reveals 55 different bits, including the most frequently needed ones of course.
You also get a magnetic grip mat, a magnetizer and an extender delivered. The magnetic grip mat is ideal when working with smaller screws like on your PC. You can just lay it next to you and it will hold all screws that you need, keeping them in an organized place.
The magnetizer allows to magnetize and demagnetize the tip of the bits. Also very convenient as you can choose whether you need your screws to be magnetic or not.
One charge of the electric screwdriver lasts up to six hours and can be fully recharged in just about 30 minutes.
Right now you can grab the Razer Viper Mini for about $ 29,99 from Amazon, which honestly is an absolute steal for a mouse like this.
The name already indicates it: This is a rather small mouse with only a weight of 61g. Fortunately, this doesn’t mean that the Razer Viper Mini is limited to small hand sizes. The mouse is best used with a fingertip grip and when doing so the mouse can be used comfortably with any hand size.
The Razer Viper Mini uses an all-black design and has a small strip of RGB around the bottom rear as well as an RGB Razer logo on the back. The mouse holds a DPI switch button on the top of the mouse and 2 programmable macro thumb buttons on the side.
But what about the sensor on this extremely budget-friendly mouse you ask? It is really good. The buttons have an incredibly low click latency, making the mouse fast and responsive. One of the drawbacks is the low maximum DPI of 8.500. Within Razer’s software, you can crank the DPI down to 200 in steps of 100.
Obviously, this mouse isn’t the best in the world, but it’s absolutely amazing value for the price.
By the way, its bigger brother – the Razer Viper – is 50% off of Amazon right now as well.

This product is super interesting for streamers and other content creators. The BlueAVS audio video capture card is probably one of the cheapest capture cards you can find on the entire market… and this thing actually works pretty well!
Essentially what this does is converting an HDMI signal to a USB output. Obviously, this sounds a lot less complex than it is, as this has to happen very quickly and reliably. Similar products from renowned brands can cost up to $ 200,00, which makes it even more fascinating that you can find this solid working product for about $ 20,00.
The product isn’t completely the same quality as its more expensive competition but does very well. When you plug the capture card into your PC, it immediately becomes a choice in every software where you’d usually select a webcam. Making this device very easy to use in conjunction with OBS or discord for example.
On the HDMI end of the adapter you can plug in any HDMI camera that you have and the capture card will then convert the signal into either 1080p/30fps or 720p/60fps.
For any content creator that wants to show off his face (or any body part, I don’t judge) in high resolution, this is the ideal entry-level capture card for you.
Graphic drawing tablets can get pricey pretty fast. The Huion H610 Pro V2 offers a lot of features that high-end products have, but for a much cheaper price of $ 49,00.
The tablet offers Android compatibility giving you the flexibility to connect it to either your PC or your Android device.
What is really impressive is that this drawing tablet offers a tilt control system, 8193 levels of pressure, 5080 LPI resolution and a response rate of 233 PPS. If those numbers don’t mean much to you: This allows for very accurate and precise lines, and gives a natural feeling, almost like drawing on a canvas.
The pen is completely battery and cord-free and hence very light. The scope of delivery also includes a pen holder and the drivers you need to install. The installation process is straightforward and takes about two minutes after plugging the tablet in.
On the left side of the drawing area, you can find eight programmable buttons. They got default functions attached to them which include: zooming, switching between pencil and eraser, undo, change pencil size and scrolling.
On the top side of the drawing area, they’re 16 more customizable soft keys and even the pen itself holds 2 programmable buttons.
All in all, this is an extremely good drawing table for the price.
If you’re anything like me then you probably check for some fancy upgrades to your desk from time to time. There are not a ton of different gadgets that are really viable for a desk, but the Divoom Pixoo Pixel Art digital frame enhances it for sure.
This small screen has dimensions of 8.5″ x 1.46″ x 7.99″ that can display different things in nostalgia-inducing pixel art. The frame is divided into 16 x 16 pixels, totaling out 256 customizable LEDs.
After installing the divoom software you get access to a ton of different features. You can set up your screen to display images, social media notifications, weather, text messages, audio visualizer, stopwatch, calendar, or simple games. The possibilities are definitely there, you can simply download a ton of content provided by the community.
If you want to get super fancy you can connect up to four of these to work together.
The Divoom Pixoo has a 2500 mAh battery that can be charged with the delivered micro USB cable. Depending on the kind of use, one charge lasts about 8 hours.
Once set up, using it is very straightforward. There is a power button in the top right and a button to cycle through different backgrounds in the bottom middle.
If you’re more on the creative side you can even create your very own designs, making this the perfectly individualized gadget for your desk.
FiFine did a great job on this cardioid condenser microphone. The all-metal build is almost on par with its more expensive rivals.
It comes delivered with a small adjustable tripod desk stand, on which you can tilt the mic 180 degrees in any direction. When the cardioid microphone is angled towards your face it records your voice very clearly, while picking up almost no background noise.
On the mic you can find a very smooth working volume control wheel, that is made of metal as well. This allows for easy adjustments without any hassle.
The USB cable is permanently attached, but using it remains fairly flexible since it’s 5.9 feet long.
Setting the microphone up with the device of your choice is simple, it’s basically all plug-and-play. Combine the ease of use with the mic’s small 12cm of height and you get a highly portable microphone, perfect for those bouncing a lot.
The K669 is ideal for anyone who simply wants to record their voice, as the clear acoustics, vocals and treble of the mic are specifically designed for that.
The mic doesn’t have a headphone jack, if you’re in desperate need of that you may want to look at the FiFine K670.
The audio quality on the Razer Seiren Mini is arguably a bit better, but deciding between those two mainly comes down to a matter of taste. This thing definitely is a budget microphone that performs and looks way over its price class.
Honestly, anything gets better with RGBs. That’s exactly what Corsair thought when they introduced the ST100 premium RGB Headset Stand.
This headset stand is manufactured extremely well, it’s using rounded edges to prevent any possible damages to your headset band. The stand is made out of aluminum, which makes it very solid and durable. The base is completely coated in a rubbery soft-touch material, giving it a strong hold on any surface.
The ST100 can be connected with the delivered 6 feet rubber USB 3.1 micro B cable. The long-range comes in very handy, as it makes it very easy to find the perfect spot for your headset stand.
The ST100 holds two USB 3.1 pass-through ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Inside the body, there’s also an integrated sound card that can produce great 7.1 virtual surround sound when you plug a headset into the audio jack.
The stand itself is big enough to hold virtually any type of headset you can think of. The holding bar is textured, making it impossible for the resting headset to slip in any direction.
But the eye-catcher of this are its RGBs. The ST100 features 9 different, fully customizable lighting zones, including the whole ring around the bottom and the Corsair logo. You can download the iCUE software with which you can either fiddle around yourself or use one of the available presets.
If you’re looking for something to boost the look of your setup, the ST100 will definitely be an upgrade worthy to look into.
Another very easy way to elevate your setup is by investing in these $ 20,00 keycaps.
The G.SKILL Crystal Crown Keycaps are separated into two different layers. The top part is available in either black or white and the bottom part is always clear. This allows the existing lightning effects of your keyboard to shine through much more, enhancing its look.
The keycaps are compatible with basically any mechanical key switches that use the cross-shaped stems like on the Cherry MXs and many other brands. In the packaging, you can also find a keycap puller, which makes swapping out the caps very easy.
This is great for anyone who wants to spice up their existing keyboards by investing very little.
