Breakdown of the 900 dollar gaming PC

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

There’s a reason why the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 six-core processor enjoys so much popularity at the moment. The value you get out of this processor is enormous. It has by far the best price to performance ratio and even supports SMT, which is conceptually the same like Hyperthreading. This means the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 can work with 12 threads, which is twice the amount the i5-9600K is capable of (and the i5 is also more expensive).

The application performance almost equals Intel high-end models. Considering the price to performance ratio, the AMD Ryzen is undoubtedly the top choice to get here. The additional cores and SMT also guarantee a lot safer future route when compared to the i5. On top of that, the processor is also freely overclockable, which means you can get even more performance out of it. The Ryzen comes with a decent CPU-cooler that is easily sufficient for the processor, even with moderate overclocking.

This is literally the most value you can get to date.

MSI B450M Pro-VDH Max

The processor gets mounted onto the very popular MSI B450M Pro-VDH Max. Together with the ASRock B450M Pro4, those are the most value AM4-Boards to get right now. They offer easy functionality to overclocking and have the most features in this price segment.

This motherboard has every port you could possibly need and even has 4 RAM slots and numerous 4 pin PWM ports for the fans.

Overall the best mainboard to get, investing in a more expensive one wouldn’t make much sense here.

AMD Radeon RX 5600 XTThe GPU of choice for this build is the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, with extremely fast 6GB of GDDR6 memory. This beast houses a lot of power, while still being relatively quiet while performing.

Performance-wise this GPU is pretty much on par with the old GTX 1080 and comes dangerously close to the RTX 2060. The performance you get for this price is something extremely rare. The chip performs fast enough to deal with brand new games in WQHD while maintaining a solid framerate.

The RX 5600 XT is more than enough to play the latest games on maximum details and in high resolution. Next to the RTX 2060, these cards are the uncontested champions in this price segment.

G.Skill Aegis 3200 MhzA total of 16 GB DDR4 RAM G.Skill Aegis 3200 Mhz get built into this PC. They use a dual-channel mode to make them even faster than they would be when  used separately.

Even though 8GB of RAM should be sufficient, 16GB will ensure you to be top performing for a long time. Not only does it allow for faster multi-tasking, but some games like Battlefield 5 will already benefit from the extra RAM.

256GB Patriot P300The drive of choice is a super fast NVMe-SSD. With 256GB the Patriot P300 SSD offers enough space for the OS, the most important softwares and at least some games. The SSD gets connected via PCIe x2 and reaches reading rates over 1700MB/s.

In modern setups a SSD is a must-have. The speed of opening applications or games gets increased significantly.

Recommended: Considering how humongous modern game files are, the storage space probably won’t suffice. We recommend to get the Toshiba P300 High Performance for additional 1000GB disk space.

be quiet 500W System Power 9Supplying this gaming station with the power it needs will be handled by the 500W be quiet! System Power 9. ‘Be quiet!’ is a very popular brand and produces high quality power supplies, that will come with all necessary protection circuits.

The System Power 9 has an 80+ bronze certificate, which means it works very efficiently. The fan gets a lot of praise for actually being one of the more quiet ones.

Kolink Stronghold CaseAll the named components will find enough space in the Koling Stronghold Midi-Tower. Obviously you can opt for any other case that offers enough space, but this would be our suggestion.

The Kolink case come swith two pre installed and adjustable 120mm fans, tools for cablemanagemet and USB 3.0 ports. The side is see-trough, to perfectly display all your new obtained gaming components.
